Cut the cable, for me it was about five inches back because I noticed that (3) was were the problem was.

Cut the coloured cable(1) then unscrew and disconnect the threaded cable holder(2) and pull out the connector with pliers so that it's hollow.

Carefully disconnect the cable from the controller board.

Disassemble the controller (There's a great video on youtube).

If you don't have a soldering kit or aren't familiar with it, I would suggest calling local electronics repair shops and asking if they could solder four wires for you. It's actually quite easy and it offers a permanent fix. Well after searching the web and finding it nearly impossible to have a quick fix for the Nacon, I decided to take it apart and fix it myself.
